Hire a 3D artist for product development, architecture, advertising, games, websites, AR, manufacturing or printing. On DitWork, a client can commission a model from scratch, improve existing geometry, create materials and lighting, render final images or optimize an asset technically. The brief should define not only how the result looks but also how the file will be used after approval.
One model is not automatically suitable for photorealistic rendering, a mobile game, browser delivery, CAD and a 3D printer. Topology, accuracy, materials, dimensions and exchange formats vary by pipeline. Defining the target workflow early prevents expensive rebuilding after the visible appearance has already been approved.
Modeling, visualization and animation
These services are related but produce different deliverables. Modeling creates geometry. Visualization adds materials, lighting, cameras and final images. Animation requires motion, rigs, simulation and a rendered sequence. A static product view does not need a complete animation pipeline. Conversely, a beautiful image alone is insufficient when the client needs an editable model for another workflow.
Product and advertising visualization
A product render can show an item before manufacturing, create an impossible camera angle or produce a consistent image series. Provide dimensions, photographs, CAD data, material references and brand rules. Agree on views, background, shadows, resolution and transparent PNG delivery. Color and proportions must remain faithful when the render is used to sell a real product.
Architectural and interior scenes
An architectural scene requires plans, elevations, heights, material specifications, surroundings and a camera list. State the desired time of day, season, population level and acceptable artistic interpretation. A visualizer communicates a proposal but does not replace a licensed architect or engineer and does not certify structural safety or local code compliance.
Game-ready and real-time assets
An asset for Unity, Unreal Engine or another engine must follow measurable restrictions. State the polycount, material slots, texture size, texel density, normal workflow, LODs, collision method and target hardware. A mobile title and a cinematic scene have very different budgets. Supply naming conventions and an example asset or import settings from the project.

Models for 3D printing

Topology, UV mapping and textures
Two visually similar models can differ greatly in structural quality. Editing and animation require logical topology. UV mapping should use texture space efficiently and place seams intentionally. A PBR set commonly contains Base Color, Roughness, Metallic and Normal, with AO, Opacity or Emission when needed. Define naming and color-space rules before texturing begins.
Write a technical 3D brief
Describe the object, purpose, target software and final workflow. Add dimensions and references from several angles. State detail level, model count, camera count, revisions, texture resolution and render resolution. When the result enters an existing production, share a technical template and one benchmark asset that already works.

Formats and software compatibility
BLEND, MAX, C4D and MAYA retain native application features but may depend on plugins. Confirm the exact format and software version accepted by the receiving team.
Rendering, lighting and post-production
Agree on the renderer, material accuracy, frame count, resolution, alpha channel and required render passes. Compositing may need masks, depth, normals, shadow and separate object layers. A final JPEG does not replace the scene source when the client expects to change a camera, product finish, lighting setup or language variant later.
Rights, libraries and third-party assets
A scene may contain purchased models, HDRIs, textures, fonts and plugins. Identify which assets are included in handoff and whether their licenses allow commercial use and transfer to another party. Dependencies that cannot be transferred should be replaced, documented through purchase links or excluded from the final editable package.
Pricing and schedule factors
Cost depends on shape complexity, dimensional accuracy, unique detail count, sculpting, retopology, UV work, textures, rigging, environment and rendering. Poor reference material increases research and revision. Break the estimate into blockout, high-poly, low-poly, UV, texturing, scene setup and final handoff so scope can change without discarding approved work.
Select and review a 3D artist
Compare portfolio evidence for the relevant production type rather than judging only polished renders. Ask for wireframes, texture examples and technical specifications where appropriate. Import the delivery into the target software and verify dimensions, scale, pivot, normals, topology, UVs, materials and texture paths. Run mesh analysis for printing, performance testing for games or a control render for visualization.
