If your microtask has already received its first results and you now need more of the same work, you usually do not need to create a duplicate. Increase the result quantity in the existing task instead.

This keeps accepted results, active workers, task history, and settings in one place.

When should you add more results?

Suppose the task was created for 20 completions. All 20 places are now used, but you need 30 more. Add new result slots to the current task.

What happens to existing results?

Accepted, pending, and active completions stay unchanged. You only increase the total capacity.

If the task had 20 results and you add 30 more, the new total becomes 50.

How to add new results

Open your microtask page and specify how many additional completions you need.

If you already have 20 and want 50 in total, add 30 more.

Do not confuse additional quantity with total quantity

If you need 30 more completions, add 30. Do not add 50 unless you actually want 50 extra places.

Do you need more budget?

Usually yes. Additional result slots mean additional paid completions.

If the current task budget is insufficient, DitWork can offer to fund the new results at the same time.

What if your main balance is too low?

Add funds to the main balance and then move the required amount into the task budget. There is no need to create a new task.

Result quantity and budget work together

  • There must be a free result slot.
  • The task budget must cover another completion.
  • The task must be active.
  • If unique texts are enabled, an unused value must be available.

If unique texts are enabled

Increasing the result quantity does not create new unique values automatically. Make sure the text pool has enough available values for the additional workers.

See Unique Texts in Microtasks for details.

Example: 10 more completions

Your task had 10 results and all 10 are complete. You need 10 more.

  1. Add 10 result slots.
  2. Check the task budget.
  3. Add more unique texts if required.
  4. Make sure the task is active.

What if some workers are still active?

They continue their work. New result slots simply become available to additional workers.

When should you create a new task instead?

Create a new microtask if the instructions, action type, audience, target link, or overall scenario changes significantly.

If you only need more identical completions, continue the existing task.

Why might the task still be invisible after increasing quantity?

Check the task budget, unique texts, active status, schedule, and worker restrictions.

See Why Your Microtask Is Not Visible.

Budget reminder

Your main balance and task budget are separate. Read Microtask Budget for more details.

Quick checklist

  1. Decide how many additional completions you need.
  2. Add that number of result slots.
  3. Check and fund the task budget.
  4. Add unique texts if required.
  5. Confirm that the task is active.

The main point

If you need more of the same work, increase the existing task instead of creating an unnecessary duplicate.

Create a different task at Create a microtask or browse the microtasks section.
